SANGUIN CELLO
Koreman's Sanguincello is made from the organic Spanish blood orange Sanguinello. The fresh taste of the juicy deep red flesh and the intense color of the orange skin make the Sanguincello unique.
Koreman' Sanguincello is just as full and creamy as Koreman's award-winning Limoncello, but with a sweet and sour taste and notes of cherry and raspberry. This Sanguincello is produced entirely according to the authentic Koreman's recipe and is 100% natural.
HISTORY
In the 17th century, the blood orange was discovered in the Philippines by the botanist Giovanni Battista Ferrari. Giovanni described the unknown fruit as an orange with red flesh and a delicious taste, similar to that of grapes. In the 19th century, the Sicilian agronomist Giuseppe Inzenga (1815-1887) already described different types of oranges in the book Agrumi Siciliani, characterized by the striking red color. The blood orange variety "Sanguinello" was officially discovered in Spain in 1929. Today they are mainly grown in Spain and Sicily. The fruit grows best in a climate with warm days and cold nights.
CUISINE
The lively flesh of a Sanguinello resembles a grapefruit in appearance. With its subtle sour taste, the fruit lends itself well to both sweet and savory dishes. In the world of gastronomy, chefs use the juice, the meat or even just the peel rich in essential oils to infuse dishes with freshness and citrus notes . Blood oranges are mainly used for their essential fresh-sweet taste. The fruit is mainly found in marmalades, salads, ice cream and soft drinks. The Sanguinello is a rich source of vitamin C and is full of important dietary fiber.
